Giant Mamas
Pop up public art installation, Giantesses, are featured on the World’s End Piazza, suspended on the facade of the Chelsea Theatre adding a sprinkle of colour and joy to the area on King’s Road.
Artist Maya Sanbar’s creations emerged from community art projects she guided during the festival, leading to 9 personalities of Giantesses each with their stories inspired by the women living on the Estate.
The project evolved through with 'Colour Your Soul' workshops transforming words, colour, and movement to tell unique stories on garments. They will be paraded at an end of Kensington and Chelsea Festival party on Thursday the 31 September 4pm to 6pm. The garments created will form part of an extraordinary catwalk followed by live music with Tatcho Drom at the Giant Mamas End of Festival Party at Chelsea Theatre piazza and roof top terrace. Free and open to all.
