SPID Theatre presents a free film screening titled 'Our Views from Kensal' at The Chelsea Theatre. No tickets required, just pop by at 4.30pm on Saturday 19 August.
‘Our Views from Kensal’ is a 20 minute documentary by SPID about the Grade II* listed estate of Kensal House, where the youth and community charity is based. It allows residents to share their experiences and stories of living in Kensal House. It also shares the stories of those who share the building's facilities. The film is produced as part of Estate Endz, the program created by Nnenna Samson and Mariana Sastre in 2013. It builds on SPID’s first Living History project that takes its inspiration from the 1984 full length film ’12 Views From Kensal,’ which juxtaposed filmed footage of the estate with interview with residents, local shop keepers, those managing the community spaces, and heritage specialists. The Bartlett Faculty Outreach Team partnered on the project.
